Overview
Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to support the continuous operation of AWS’s global cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on hardware and network diagnostics, troubleshooting, and physical repairs in data center facilities, while participating in on‑call rotations and shift work.
Key Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, and troubleshooting of network issues.
- Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs.
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
- Lift and move material up to 40 pounds each.
- Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Maneuver, bend, lift, stretch, and reach as required.
- Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
