* Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Serves as contact liaison on a daily basis between the County Court at Law Judge, County Court at Law staff, District Attorney’s Office and other county departments and agencies for court documents filed in the County Clerk’s Office, information and case status in criminal division docket related matters.
* Responsible for preparing, filing, arranging and maintaining all case files that have been assigned to a specific court and judge and may be required to substitute and assist in other courts with minimal guidance as needed.
* Responsible for receiving and filing all court documents; receiving all exhibits at the conclusion of the proceeding; issuing all process; and performing all other duties imposed on the County Clerk’s Office by law.
* Maintains hearing, jury and non-jury trial daily dockets both in person and virtual for criminal statutory county courts and any associated specialty courts; and assists the judge in the jury selection process and maintains jury records, records excuses, and jury strikes.
* Files cases in accordance with the statewide eFiling Rules for Criminal Cases as adopted by the Supreme Court of Texas and records case activity in the County’s Case Management System.
* Reviews all orders signed by the Judge to determine what further action, if any, is required by the County Clerk’s Office and completes said action.
* Ensure proper notification of statute-mandated court documents regarding cases to internal and external departments with the highest level of confidentiality and promptness.
* Facilitates prompt and precise correspondence with Bexar County Jail regarding cases when a bond amount or type of bond has changed, outcome of a court proceeding, and/or a dismissal of a case;
Effectively ensuring the timely release of an inmate daily and with high importance;  Follows procedures to ensure that defendants are released from jail in a timely manner and that case information and dispositions are accurately updated.
* Processes and maintains correspondence with Pre-Trial Services and the Court regarding reports and updates on cases by determining the importance and prioritizing proper tracking.
* Responsible for updating the County’s Case Management System on a daily basis when court documents  (probation conditions, probation terminations, extensions, etc.) are received from Adult Probation and coordinating the removal of devises with the Department of Public Safety, if required.
* Prepares and issues court documents which may include court orders, court directives, GPS conditions, court transfers, bond forfeitures according to statues rule or court orders, judgments, warrants, subpoenas, requests for Abstracts of Judgment and Writs of Execution and Possession, court ordered personal service on delinquent estates or requests for psychiatric examinations.
* Reviews Orders signed by judge to determine further action required and follows through on action.
* Scans in Orders, Judgments, and all court documents into the File
360 system and/or the County’s Case Management System to ensure that all court documents are viewable and retrievable by all court staff and other Bexar County entities.
* May perform accounting related duties such as calculating judgment amounts, court costs, preparing cash bond refunds, issuing writs of execution and abstracts of judgment.
* May process attorney vouchers signed by the Judge for payment of attorney fees to Bexar County Auditor’s Office electronically.
* Corresponds directly with Specialty Court officers with referrals, acceptances, or denials in the program.
* Supplies information, when appropriate, regarding case status and dispositions, trial dates, court procedures and jurisdiction.
