Role OverviewThe Superintendent supervises and manages multiple commercial paint crews at our job sites, ensuring that all project scopes of work are performed on time, on budget, and in accordance with contract specifications while consistently delivering our company’s quality and safety standards. The role directs and supervises commercial paint operations of the assigned teams.
Responsibilities- Take inventory of materials upon arrival and before completion.
- Collaborate with Foreman to train new crew or foremen on new commercial paint systems.
- Assess and ensure crew leads practice Cherry safety and client guidelines.
- Perform job‑site quality control—assess workmanship and efficiency while crews work.
- Ensure crews work at an efficient pace and stay on schedule.
- Document and correct poor workmanship promptly.
- Provide training if necessary and keep tools organized.
- Spot‑check coverage rates to minimize product waste and maximize material usage.
- Ensure foremen create work tickets when necessary and fill out all daily JHAs.
- Develop relationships with clients in the field, gaining buy‑in from project superintendents and PMs for future projects.
- Set realistic expectations with clients, address complaints, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Respond to and minimize job‑site issues before escalating to the Operations Manager.
- Report issues requiring Operations Manager or Project Manager attention.
- Train Foreman on proper time corrections and provide minor disciplinary guidance.
- Communicate with Warehouse Manager and Project Manager to coordinate supplemental material needs.
- Ensure work tickets are documented, signed, and submitted to the PM and billing department on time.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) – a plus.
- Proficient in reading and writing English – required.
- Prior experience in commercial paint environments.
- Strong commercial paint experience.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Hands‑on leadership in the field, mentoring skills, high‑level communication.
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, email) – required.
- Passion for high‑quality work, hardworking, and loyal.
- Ability to travel (80%) to job sites, with overtime or night shifts as needed.
