Required Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree
* 5+ years of experience in student recruitment, enrollment, family engagement, operations, and/or school leadership.
* Team Management Experience
* Strong business acumen and project management skills.
* Fluency with CRM tools and student information systems; experience with Ascender or similar SIS is a plus.
* Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours as required.
* Data-driven and strategic thinker with experience in real-time operational decision-making.
* Relational leader with demonstrated success building partnerships with families and community organizations.
* Pass a background check.
Highly Preferred
* Previous school-based leadership, district operations, or student recruitment/enrollment management experience.
* Spanish proficiency preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
* Annual salary: $67,000 - $87,000, based on experience

Your Mission
As the Director of Operations and Engagement at Compass Rose Public Schools, you ensure that our schools operate smoothly, efficiently, and safely, enabling leaders to focus on instruction and student success. You support key operational functions-including student recruitment, enrollment, attendance, culture, facilities, meals, transportation, safety, and compliance-while fostering a student-centered, positive behavior culture. You are a systems-minded, strategic, and relational leader with exceptional organizational and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Talent Management
* Support the hiring, training, development, and people management of operations staff.
* Provide coaching and development structures to support high performance and retention.
* Model and champion Compass Rose's values, performance frameworks, and talent philosophies.
2. Operations, Service & Facilities
* Ensure campuses are clean, safe, and fully operational at least two weeks before school starts and maintained throughout the year.
* Manage campus income from auxiliary programs, fundraising, and special events.
* Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and external contractors to deliver new construction, renovations, and facility improvements on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
* Conduct facilities inspections, maintenance planning, and preventive maintenance, ensuring campuses meet safety, accessibility, and operational standards.
3. Student Recruitment, Enrollment & Persistence
* Develop and execute recruitment strategies to ensure 105% enrollment by the First Day of School, 85% student persistence year-over-year, and 93% Average Daily Attendance (ADA.
* Collaborate with campus leaders and Network Enrollment teams to nurture applications, ensure timely registration, and support re-enrollment.
* Lead family engagement, onboarding, and registration events, building warm, mission-aligned relationships.
* Track enrollment and persistence metrics, identify trends, and implement strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism.
* Serve as an escalation point for family concerns, providing timely, empathetic, and solutions-oriented support.
4. Student Culture & Engagement
* Support communication with families, including newsletters, digital platforms, and direct outreach.
* Work with staff and families to support academic and social-emotional growth by promoting systems that reinforce positive student behaviors
* Implement student and parent surveys and maintain compliance documentation.
5. Safety, Compliance & Budget
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ADA, and local building codes.
* Oversee budget management for operations and facilities, ensuring cost-effective procurement and spending.
* Develop and implement emergency procedures, safety programs, and operational protocols across all campuses.
Your Schedule
* Year-round, flexible schedule; typical hours 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with evenings and weekends required for family events and operational needs.
* Minimal local travel; occasional visits to other campuses within 25 miles.
