Overview
Position Summary: The Aircraft Sheet metal Technician is responsible for following instructions given by the Production Manager to execute all sheet metal builds successfully. The goal is to efficiently design and manufacture components and systems that are safe, innovative, and of high quality. The Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that the expectations of the Company’s customers are exceeded by performing the following:
Responsibilities- Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Understands cutaway and detail views
- Operate machines such as drill presses, shears, Table saw, bandsaw and measuring tools such as scales and calipers.
- Can identify various types of aluminum alloys, tempers and thicknesses.
- Use hands and power tools to shape and smooth aluminum and steel.
- Operate equipment to cut parts with straight, angle and miter cuts.
- Capable of reading and understanding decimal scale and use of scales, protractors, and calipers.
- Can understand and locate revision levels on drawings, specifications, and materials.
- Maintain documentation such as work orders and parts tags
- Able to layout cut lines, bend lines and hole locations for hardware installations.
- Experience in the proper drilling (proper hole sizes) countersinking, for the installation of various rivets and hardware fasteners.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Possesses an extensive toolbox and experience on proper use of Air Drills, Rivet guns, Routers, Cleco pliers, Clecos, Microstop Countersinks, Rivet squeezers, pencil grinders.
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum Three years related manufacturing and/or installation experience, or
- Minimum Two years related aerospace manufacturing and/or installation experience.
- Full-Time Position.
- Warehouse and manufacturing environment.
