Position:
Fabricator
Job Purpose:
The Fabricator will be responsible for constructing and assembling metal and composite structures, components or products according to specifications, using various welding techniques and fabrication equipment. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, precision and attention to detail to ensure all products meet quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret, engineering drawings and schematics to determine fabrication requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, shape and weld metal sheets, tubes, plates and steel sections to create structures, components or products.
• Select and operate welding equipment such as, MIG for fabrication.
• Fabricate metal structures using cutting, drilling, grinding, sawing and shearing equipment and hand tools.
• Assemble fabricated metal parts using bolts, rivets, clips or other fasteners, and ensure all components fit together as per the design.
• Perform quality checks on all products and ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
• Clean, maintain and repair fabrication equipment to ensure it is in good working condition at all times.
• Collaborate with project Coordinator and Supervisor to identify product design requirements and develop fabrication solutions that meet client needs.
Skills and
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in welding, fabrication or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing, fabrication or welding operations.
• Advanced knowledge of fabrication techniques and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
• Ability to operate fabrication equipment such as welding machines, drills, grinders and saws.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Physical Requirements:
• Bending and stooping
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Standing for extended periods of time
Salary Range:
The salary range for a Fabricator varies based on experience level. Typical starting salaries range from $18 to $22 per hour. Experienced Fabricators can earn up to per hour or more.
