Scope

of the Position

Bakerly Ranch is looking for a Packaging Operator who is responsible for inspecting, packing, and confirming outstanding quality for every product baked at Bakerly Ranch. They will perform various duties within the packing area and excel in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. The Packing Operator is expected to uphold quality and efficiency standards while packing the product to meet customer specifications. This role includes performing various roles in a rotation such as boxing product, forming boxes, building pallets, label placement and other duties within the department.

If process deviations occur, the Packing Operator communicates with their team to resolve the issue to continue with successful production.

Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Multi-tasks and successfully cross-trains each station within the packing department and adjusts to the varying pace of the line. These duties include making and packing boxes, disposing of waste, cleaning production areas, maintaining the production line and more!
  • Maintains flexibility and contributes diligently to meet the yield goals of your shift.
  • Effectively resolve or communicate deviations in products, line stops, machines, or other production issues with operators and Line Conductors to mitigate loss of product and down time.
  • Follows all specifications and SOPs within the packaging department to ensure standardization.
  • Informs safety and quality concerns immediately to Line Conductor, Supervisor, or member of management team.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records of production and quality documentation.
  • Follows Safety, Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices, and SOPs to ensure adherence to all quality requirements included in the HACCP program and Quality Assurance.
  • Daily sanitation duties.
  • Always follows proper PPE and attire when in production; including but not limited to uniforms, gloves, safety shoes, dust masks and others that may be required.
  • Develop and maintain quality and food safety standards.
Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintain consistency, and follow instruction.
  • Must have the ability to stand, move, and be physically active for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective communication within your team, across departments, and exhibit interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in food industry a plus.
  • Complies with FDA, OSHA, and all other regulatory agencies while complying with Good Manufacturing Practices and a Quality Assurance team.
  • Must possess and demonstrate time management skills to ensure production operation efficiency.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions.
  • Ability to quickly respond to changing priorities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks promptly and carefully.
  • Ability to work quickly and cleanly and take direction.
  • Flexible in helping all areas of operations to accommodate the continuous growth of operations.
  • Establish and develop strong professional relationships with operators, line conductors, and supervisors.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
