Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance operations in our fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility. In this role, they'll coordinate maintenance staff to ensure equipment and production processes run safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Supervisor will also play a key role in supporting preventive maintenance initiatives and ensuring full compliance with safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities- Directly supervise employees in the maintenance department in a manufacturing environment, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase crew efficiency.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Implement and maintain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Provide 24/7 support to staff and Engineering.
- Partner with and coordinate outside contractors.
- Complete site preparation for new equipment and create new PMs for new equipment.
- Create work orders and assign them to technicians.
- Run downtime reports.
- Actively support plant safety efforts through departmental participation in safety meetings and safety walks. Engage in safe practices and enforce safety rules and job rotations.
- Assist the plant in achieving safety goals while maintaining Safe Workplace and Environmental and Sustainability objectives.
- Willingly report unsafe conditions/behaviors and participate in safety/ergonomic committees, safety Kaizen events, safety audits, and safety observation feedback events.
- Initiate timely investigations of all reported incidents/accidents, injuries; complete all 8
Ds, include the “5 whys,” and identify and document root causes.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with relevant education and certifications, or 10 years of experience without a degree (automotive preferred).
- OSHA 30 Certification (required).
- NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B Certifications (required).
- NFPA 101 Certification (preferred).
- General working knowledge of control systems and PLCs.
- Ability to pass an annual physical examination.
- Valid driver's license (required).
- Ability to work on a rotational shift schedule (typically 2–4 weeks per rotation: Mon‑Fri, 6:30 am‑4:30 pm / 6:30 pm‑4:30 am).
