What You Will Do: The Outpatient Nurse Manager supervises the endoscopy/operating room staff and schedules adequate staff to meet the surgery schedule needs. The manager interviews and hires new staff, facilitates peer interviewing, facilitates staff education, and evaluates competency. The manager has 24‑hour, 7‑day responsibility to provide leadership, management, administration, and supervision for the unit and staff, including planning, organizing, staff development, performance management, quality, fiscal and information management, regulatory compliance, daily operations, building and enhancing relationships through customer relations and appropriate professional involvement.
The manager works closely with directors, ancillary staff, managers, medical directors, medical department chairs, physicians, and other disciplines to develop services and ensure quality.
Required
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Required Skills: Basic computer keyboard skills, fax machine, scanner, Microsoft Office
Preferred
Skills:
Previous Meditech experience
Required Licensure/Certification: Texas license as an RN, certified Basic Life Support, Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) or Ambulatory Surgery Nurse (CNAMB), or must acquire certification within 2 years. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Required Experience: 3‑5 years of Surgical Services Experience
Preferred Experience: Previous management or leadership experience.
