Job Summary

We are searching for our next SUPER STAR! As our LVN you will be responsible to assess, observe, evaluate, and document intervention on the patients of this facility. You will provide teaching, counseling, support, and quality patient care, working as a member of a team to assure the best possible care for all patients. The LVN must be familiar with community health resources, social, and welfare services.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Takes patient history, vital signs, symptoms, and conditions and documents such in the medical record.
  • Checks patient's height and weight. Administers screening tests, evaluates, and records results.
  • Administers patient immunizations following clinical protocols and provider's instructions.
  • Administers medications and treatments ordered by the provider.
  • Maintains lab duties including quality checks, specimen processing, documentation, and equipment maintenance.
  • Checks the treatment room for properly functioning equipment and stocks supplies.
  • Provides individual or group health education to patients, including distribution of educational materials.
  • Reviews chart documentation for completeness according to established indicators.
  • Travels to other Centro del Barrio sites as needed.
  • Abides by infection control policies and procedures.
  • Abides by policies on hazardous materials and safety.
  • Demonstrates competence with patients aged 0 and older.
  • Participates in the agency’s Quality Improvement Program.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements
  • Education
    :
    Graduation from an accredited Vocational Nursing school, currently licensed with the Texas Board of Vocational Nursing Examiners, CPR certified.
  • Experience
    :
    Clinic or hospital experience preferred.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural
    :
    Spanish.
Physical Requirements
  • Must perform essential functions of the position.
  • Must meet attendance requirements.
  • Must not pose a threat to health or safety of others.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Must deliver excellent customer service.
