Family Nurse Practitioner – Westover Hills – 10K Sign on Bonus
Health Texas Primary Care Doctors is seeking a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner to join our Westover Hills team. This position includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undergo full physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, develop and implement treatment plans, and educate patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, monitor patient progress, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
- Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Contribute to the growth and success of Health Texas while upholding its Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Obtain medical history and physical data on patients; review patient records.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Perform a complete physical exam and record findings; formulate a working diagnosis.
- Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan using prevention principles.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications; prepare written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
- Interview and advise patients on health and illness prevention; recommend community resources.
- Instruct patients and families on medications, treatment instructions, and provide education.
- Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders.
- Facilitate the HTMG Foot Care clinic and provide rotating services to the Saturday clinic when required.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
- Perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Use oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner consistent with HTMG Core Values and Mission.
- Maintain established HTMG policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Implement job responsibilities consistently with the HTMG Code of Ethics.
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined in the medical group’s discretion.
- Perform other related work as required.
Essential
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Family Practice.
- Knowledge of healthcare law and code of ethics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of clinical systems, such as electronic health records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to assess and diagnose medical conditions.
- Ability to provide primary care and health maintenance.
- Ability to order and interpret laboratory tests and X-rays.
- In‑depth knowledge of medications, including their uses and side effects.
- Competency in performing minor medical procedures.
- Ability to provide patient education and counseling.
- Familiarity with community health resources and referrals.
- Must have specific managed care experience.
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, certification through AANP or ANCC, and current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing & a Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Family Practice.
- Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
