Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Mi Casa Hospice – San Antonio, TX

Mi Casa Hospice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the clinical leadership and daily operations of our hospice program. This role works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality, compliant, and compassionate patient care.

Position Requirements
  • Schedule:

    Must be in the office Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • On-Call:
    Must participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Field Work:
    Must be willing and able to complete all types of hospice visits as needed, including routine, PRN, admission, recertification, and death visits
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, CHAP, and Texas Health & Human Services hospice regulations
  • Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to nursing and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in patient care planning, IDG meetings, and case conferences
  • Conduct chart reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities
  • Support staff education, competencies, and ongoing training
  • Assist with admissions, recertifications, and discharges as needed
  • Perform patient visits when staffing needs require
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to clinical needs after hours as assigned
  • Collaborate with administration to maintain quality outcomes and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
  • Current Texas RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 3 years hospice experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Leadership Experience
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and standards of care
  • Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in both office and field settings
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally for patient visits
