Job Summary and Qualifications

The Stroke Program Manager will assume 24‑hour responsibility for the coordination and direction of the stroke and sepsis programs. Responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the stroke and sepsis protocols. He/she directs, plans, and facilitates all protocols for care of the stroke or sepsis patient in collaboration with the medical staff, subspecialists, nursing and medical teams, and ancillary services. Must ensure that the stroke and sepsis protocols for MHS is in constant compliance with JCAHO, State, and other regulatory agencies.

Essential Job Functions
:

  • Coordinates stroke services and sepsis protocols to ensure compliance with appropriate governing agencies. Demonstrates excellence in practice through full role functions: practitioner, educator, consultant, and leader.
  • Develops and reviews policies and procedures in relation to stroke care of patients and sepsis. Develops and implements needed protocols, pre‑printed order sets, participates in stroke patient rounds to identify issues and evaluate solutions. Audits all sepsis patients for compliance.
  • Serves as a liaison with pre‑hospital providers, other stroke centers, tertiary centers, regional hospitals, and community and government agencies. Develops and maintains quality improvement to obtain objective data for overall analysis of both programs and develops evidence‑based care delivery to ensure quality stroke and sepsis care delivery.
  • Actively participates in local, state, regional, and national organizations that support stroke and sepsis care. Coordinates all on‑site certification visits. Follows required JCAHO program certification regulations.
