American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and NIH Stroke Certification.

• Work in the Surgical ICU (SICU) of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with rotating 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A)
• Rotating weekend requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Procedures performed on unit include chest tubes, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, art lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
• All travelers required to float per facility floating policy

• Active TX RN license or compact license required; temporary license not accepted
• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• MICU/MSICU background preferred
• IABP and CRRT exposure preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients
• Badge in and out for each shift and take a full 30-minute lunch break
• Scrub color requirement: navy scrub top and pant with navy or white scrub jacket
• Tattoos must be covered when feasible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
