American Traveler is hiring a PCU/Telemetry RN for a Burn and Reconstructive unit requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent specialty experience.

• 9 South Burn and Reconstructive Care Unit (BRCU) at a hospital in San Antonio, TX
• 22-bed unit staffed with RNs, PCTs, and a Charge Nurse on both day and night shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
• Cares for burn and reconstructive patients as well as off-service PCU patients including stroke and cardiac cases
• Performs dressing changes as a typical unit procedure
• Standard unit equipment with Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required with no on-call obligations
• Floating required to PCU, Telemetry, and Med Surg zones
• 13-week contract assignment

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required for Burn Unit (ICU) placement
• Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience required
• Independent personality fit preferred for this unit

• Provides direct patient care including dressing changes for burn and reconstructive patients
• Also supports off-service PCU patients such as stroke and cardiac cases
• Navy blue scrub attire required
• Thanksgiving and Christmas time-off requests cannot be approved due to staffing needs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered
