Summary
Ensure quality eyewear is distributed to customers. Direct coordination within the Manufacturing and Distribution areas to address quality issues. Train and coach staff to support quality aspects of the manufacturing procedures.
Pay Class and PayPay Class: Full Time
Pay: $21.00 - $22.18 per hour
Essential Responsibilities- Adhere to all Company and ANSI eyewear quality standards.
- Achieve area KPI goals.
- Effectively communicate with Manufacturing and Distribution leadership to address quality issues and present solutions to reduce repeat occurrences.
- Perform breakage data entry, process variable verification, shipping to customers, and evaluate uncut and finished eyewear to ensure all quality standards and customer expectations are met.
- Monitor and identify opportunities for quality improvement and provide solutions using structured problem‑solving techniques; collaborate with vendors/suppliers to test new products that enhance quality and efficiency.
- Train and coach associates to enforce quality standards, assist in interviewing potential new section associates, and support cross‑training to develop the team.
- Receive and evaluate jobs returned from customers to troubleshoot quality issues and identify training opportunities.
- Maintain measuring systems, verify calibrations, return defective systems for repair, and manage consumable, manual measuring device, and hand tool supply levels while maintaining a standardized setup at each workstation.
- Drive continuous improvement in daily work activities, providing proactive leadership to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mindset for the team.
- Practice and comply with all requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) and regulations that promote a safe and healthy workplace, including enforcement of PPE and 6S requirements.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience & Background- Three years of experience in a fast‑paced environment with a record of continuously increased responsibility.
- Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience utilizing standards from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
- Experience working with structured procedures and processes.
- Read and comprehend complex English instructions, correspondence, and memoranda; write similar correspondence and communicate findings effectively.
- Present information in one‑on‑one and group settings.
- Perform analytical mathematics demanded by the business functions, using standard units of measurement, distance, weight, volume, and currency.
- Measure and compute lens power and prism as required.
- Think logically following procedures and instructions.
- Apply general problem‑solving abilities.
- Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
- Apply analytical tools and common understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions and interpret diagrams and forms.
- Deal with complex problems and situations involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
The role requires standing, using hands and fingers to handle, feel, pick or pinch, and speaking or hearing most of the time. Occasional walking, reaching, lifting, and moving up to 50 lbs are required. The noise level is moderate. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
