Space Science Division, Department of Space Research, Remote Sensing Group.

• Conduct investigations with data products from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) Lyman Alpha Mapping Project (LAMP) to study a variety of lunar science questions based on far-UV albedo maps of the lunar surface.
• Looking to expand our department’s expertise in Trojan asteroid investigations conducted with the Lucy mission, with opportunities to propose programs of study into other new areas.

• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at professional meetings.
• Create and update computer codes (Python, IDL, etc.) to ingest large planetary datasets for ultraviolet albedo mapping of planetary bodies (Moon, moons of Jupiter, etc.).
• Lead NASA funded planetary research and analysis projects and/or observing proposals.
• Opportunity to lead and/or assist in new planetary instrument and mission development proposals efforts.

• Requires a PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Planetary Geology, Planetary Science, Astrophysics, Space Science, or Space Instrumentation
• 3 years:
  Post-PhD experience with a track-record of leading NASA funded projects.
• A background in scientific analysis and publication of lunar surface composition and related albedo topics is highly desirable.
