About the Role

Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and report to the Store Manager. The specialist exemplifies friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise, providing superior customer service and representing the David’s Bridal brand.

Essential Job Functions
  • Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person, communicating clearly and concisely; problem‑solve, use excellent phone skills, and resolve conflict.
  • Use all systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five‑star experience.
  • Maintain all service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting customers’ needs, and completing operational checklists.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers simultaneously, contributing to the store’s Five‑Star Customer Service.
  • Proactively address customer concerns, know when to escalates, and partner with leadership.
  • Communicate how alterations can play a role in perfecting a dress, promoting all alteration services and personalization options.
  • Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers about gown fit and customization.
  • Maintain store standards for a flawless shopping experience.
  • Comply with the Dress Code Policy and maintain a high standard of dress.
  • Escort all alterations customers to and from appointments.
  • Inspect all garments altered, steamed, pressed to verify pristine condition before final delivery.
  • Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information.
  • Build long‑term relationships to exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Manage inventory and process special orders, pick‑ups, and ensure first‑quality standards.
  • Ensure alteration pricing meets company standards.
  • Manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments to company standards.
  • Resolve customer service issues promptly and effectively.
  • Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
  • Maintain the alterations room so it is consistently clean and organized.
  • Perform duties and tasks assigned by store management.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach for tools, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Perform manual tasks such as using POS terminals, steaming garments, accessing computers, and handling telephone calls.
  • Have adequate vision for close and distance work and for reading computers, electronic devices, and phones for extended periods.
Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store.
  • Prior sewing experience, preferably in bridal or special‑occasion production.
  • Prior experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.
