Key Account Manager, San Antonio or Austin Class B

Responsibilities- Calls on accounts in the assigned geographic territory to promote the Johnson Brothers portfolio.
- Prospects and opens new accounts.
- Anticipates and evaluates customer needs and suggests products accordingly.
- Develops sales and product knowledge to effectively educate and taste accounts on products.
- Regularly meets and exceeds sales goals and quotas.
- Uses strong business acumen to protect the interests of the company, supplier partners, and valued customers.
- Manages time effectively to meet order deadlines and delivery cut-offs.
- Communicates professionally with buyers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates leadership and entrepreneurial qualities.
- Attends and participates in regular team sales meetings.
- Comfortably speaks publicly about products, events, or at staff training or other promotional events.
- Maintains a clean driving record and current, valid state driver’s license.
- Ensures accounts are current on payments and assists in collecting payments when necessary.
- Organizes supplier market work and maintains professional communications with suppliers before, during, and after all market work.
- Treats all employees, management, vendors, and customers with respect at all times.
- Responds to buyer requests and inquiries with urgency and timeliness.
- May include working nights and weekends on promotions and other account activities.
- Trains new associates on processes, product knowledge, and territory relationships.
- Requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and an acceptable driving record.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong persuasive presentation skills, including public speaking before large audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
- Background or experience in the beverage or restaurant/bar industry a plus.
- Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry, including wine and spirits terms and production processes.
- Passion for wine and spirits with ability to continuously learn new brands.
- Physical ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly.
- Valid driver’s license; must be 21+ to sell alcohol in Texas.
- Serviceable criminal background compliance.
