Position: Senior Environmental Scientist II (Central Texas)
Overview

Hollaway Environmental + Communications Services, a growing professional services firm based in central Houston with offices in San Antonio, seeks an exceptional candidate in the Central Texas area to support our award-winning Environmental Services team. As a Senior Environmental Scientist II, you would be responsible for complex environmental clearance, permitting, and mitigation and restoration planning. This position also supports and maintains multiple environmental projects/accounts simultaneously.

Compensation
  • Base pay range: $83,000.00/yr - $97,000.00/yr
  • This range is provided by Hollaway Environmental + Communications Services, Inc. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
  • Lead project scope development, budget proposals, client communication, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and uphold quality assurance for deliverables.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and ensure compliance with safety plans.
  • Lead complex environmental assessments, including wetland delineations and species habitat assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports and coordinate with natural resource agencies.
  • Advise clients on permitting strategies and oversee NEPA documentation.
  • Support client and vendor relationships and participate in business development activities.
  • Assist in developing responses to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Stay current on industry developments and regulations.

  • Adapt quickly to the company culture and independently lead project activities.
  • Successfully manage project scope, budgets, and client communications.
  • Build trust with clients and maintain clear communication with the management team.
Experience Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field and 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is essential.
  • Strong technical writing and document review skills are necessary.
Preferred
  • Current scientific research permits and certifications, such as Professional Wetland Scientist or Certified Arborist, are preferred.
  • GIS experience and multilingual abilities are advantageous.
Professional Skills
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and presentation skills are required.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and resolve problems effectively.
