Event Security Guard II (PT)
Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) invites applicants for the Event Security Guard II (PT) position. This role involves supervising part‑time Event Security Guard I staff and ensuring safe, compliant operations at the Frost Bank Center and Toyota Field.
Starting pay is $14.50 per hour, increasing to $17.50 after 90 days. All security personnel must obtain a Level II Non‑Commissioned Security License from the Texas Department of Public Safety within the first 90 days. Failure to obtain or maintain the license may result in termination.
What You’ll Do:
- Observe and report all suspicious activity, guest complaints, and emergencies.
- Respond immediately to potential problems such as fighting, disorderly conduct, excessive use of alcohol, smoking, and abusive language.
- Conduct event briefings to ensure assigned guards are prepared for their shift and receive all necessary training and information.
- Address situations with Event Security Guard I’s when out of alignment with SS&E or department policies.
- Demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.
- Additional duties may be assigned by Security Management.
Who You Are:
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory, management and/or leadership experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the security field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Texas State Security level II non‑commissioned license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of how to operate a walkthrough magnetometer and x‑ray machines.
- Ability to work long hours, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, overnight and holidays.
- Ability to work the minimum of 70% of events each month.
- Ability to meet dress standards.
- Ability to work at both the Frost Bank Center and Toyota Field for all events assigned.
- Commitment to maintain standards set forth in the Frost Bank Center Event Security Policies & Procedures Manual.
- Ability to work outdoor events in hot, cold, wet, or windy conditions throughout the duration of the shift.
Preferred Experience:
- 1 year of entertainment industry experience.
- CPR Certification / Basic First Aid preferred.
- Knowledge of law enforcement or experience in the entertainment industry, security, military, or law enforcement preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally able to lift and carry 25+ pounds.
- Occasionally ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs in an arena and outdoor stadium setting throughout the shift.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods in extreme conditions for the duration of the assigned shift.
- Occasional bending and kneeling to complete work.
