We’re looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join Rapid Fire Safety & Security.

Employment Type: Full-time.

Salary: $25-35/hour with a potential $3,000 sign‑on bonus.

Incentive Program: Receives $1,500 at 90 days and $1,500 at 1‑year anniversary for new hires eligible after August 1, 2025.

Position Description

The Fire Alarm Technician installs, maintains, and repairs fire alarm/security alarm systems for commercial customers.

Responsibilities
  • Install, program, and test fire alarm systems in residential and commercial properties.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine the most effective alarm system placement.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any issues with existing fire alarm systems.
  • Upgrade and replace outdated or faulty detection and control components.
  • Perform regular maintenance and inspections to ensure proper functioning.
  • Provide training and instructions to customers on how to operate alarm systems.
  • Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, certifications, licenses and advancements in alarm system technology.
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Competencies
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in low‑voltage electrical work including fire alarm, CCTV, and security.
  • Ability to program panels and use laptops/iPads and software applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Other Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Multi‑year proven experience as an Alarm Technician or similar role (preferred).
  • Familiarity with various fire alarm system brands and models, including CCTV, security and access control (preferred).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
