Telecom Customer Premise Technician - Level IV

In this role you will perform detailed installation, integration, and testing of Customer Premise fiber systems and routers with minimum supervision.

Core Responsibilities
  • Master installation skills and testing per Telco Standards, performing all Level IV duties with high competence and accuracy.
  • Execute comprehensive equipment installation across a wide variety of fiber system setups, including system testing and integration.
  • Work with transport equipment such as Ciena, Fujitsu, Cisco, Nortel, Nokia, DELL, and Juniper.
  • Adhere to fiber installation standards and procedures.
  • Read and follow Method of Procedures, order specifications, floor plans, equipment, and wiring documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy of all required documentation.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and colleagues to test and turn up equipment; possess turn‑up and integration testing skills.
  • Understand company policies, safety procedures, paperwork, and administrative requirements; review subordinate time and expense documentation.
  • Comply with system update requirements for all installation documents.
  • Resolve project‑related issues using defined processes.
  • Generate MOPs, high‑risk activity reports, work schedules, test records, and project completion reports.
  • Perform in‑process and final quality audits to meet or exceed industry and customer standards; collaborate with Installation, Engineering, and Project Management teams.
Independent Work Operations
  • Physically place, remove, or modify working and non‑working equipment.
  • Install cable trays and/or racks from drawings and engineering documents.
  • Install telecommunications equipment cabinets and frames, servers, switches, routers, repeaters, bridges, gateways, multiplexers, transceivers, and firewalls as required.
  • Identify, label, measure, terminate, and route cables that supply AC and/or DC power or transmit data in various technical spaces.
  • Conduct testing and document performance characteristics of hardware and software; determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Perform test and turn‑up as well as other integration activities.
  • Resolve equipment and technical issues as they arise.
  • Validate quality of in‑process and completed work.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Core Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of installation experience or equivalent combination of experience and training; prior leadership experience required. Verizon installation experience is a plus.
  • High school diploma with two years of technical school or equivalent training related to telecommunications field installations.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and handle variable problems in standardized situations.
  • Proficient laptop computer skills and experience with applications.
  • Full understanding of company/customer policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license; able to pass pre‑employment background checks and be insurable.
Physical / Work Environment
  • Travel required within your home region using a company vehicle; overnight stays, if required.
  • Work a variety of shifts.
  • Must be able to vertically lift 50 lbs.; stand, walk, climb ladders, and crawl in tight spaces.

Base Pay Range: $62,000 USD - $72,000 USD
