Performs installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic security equipment. Completes work in accordance with relevant codes and NERC regulations. Maintains technical expertise in access control systems, CCTV, security alarms, etc.

• Installs, monitors, maintains and repairs surveillance equipment designed to safeguard cyber-sensitive assets and control access to such equipment.
• Performs recordkeeping required by NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Protocols.
• Examines security and access control systems to locate, identify, and repair problems.
• Tests backup features, programming and other electronic security measures to ensure proper functioning and diagnose malfunctions.
• Installs security panels, alarm sensors, video mounted cameras and covert cameras.
• Installs, maintains or repairs security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
• Assists other trades personnel as required to support their work activities (e.g., coordination with electricians, locksmiths, carpenters).
• Responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety/security concerns.
• Attends meetings, workshops, training, and seminars to gather information required to perform job duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Attends training for particular systems and receives certifications for position progression.

• Ability to select the proper type of cable and perform installation in plenum or non-plenum rated environments.
• Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal codes as they apply to security and life safety equipment.
• Intermediate knowledge of computer, networks, and IT-related systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies.
• Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
