Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Service Specialist to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, programming, servicing and testing of new and upgraded fire alarm systems. What You’ll Do

• Assist in the testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Assist in the servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programming of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and operational/product manuals.
• Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.

What You’ll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma
• Minimum Experience:
  
  3-5 years, trade school or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  NICET Certification in Fire Alarm, EST 3 or EST 4 and/or Special Hazards, Associate’s degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation, 2 years of hands on experience in the commercial/industrial/low voltage/electrical industry.
