Supports the district's instructional program by providing instruction and supervision of students during the absence of professional, or paraprofessional staff.

• High School Diploma or GED

• Ability to work well with children
• Knowledge of general office equipment

• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
• Responds only to assignments assigned to him/her. (Assignment scheduled to change).
• Reports to assigned campus in a timely manner. Reports to secretary immediately upon arrival at assigned campus. Checks out with secretary at the conclusion of assignment each day.
• Secures and follows all instructions left by classroom teacher and seeks guidance from principal if instructions are missing or not understandable.
• Reports to and follows instructions of the classroom teacher or supervisor if performing paraprofessional duties.
• Reports to principal for additional assignment during school day if period is indicated as "conference" on the teacher/paraprofessional's schedule.
• Acts as a positive role model for students and supports the mission of the school district.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies and administrative regulations. Seeks assistance from principal immediately if unable to control a situation.
• Maintains focus on instructional program at all times. Seeks help from principal if difficulty arises in fulfilling this responsibility.
• Demonstrate behavior that is mature, ethical, and responsible.
• Maintain a journal of all activities in the classroom to include attendance, instruction, and discipline.
• Fulfills special duties assigned to teacher/para-professional, such as, duty in the cafeteria, bus area, or hallways.
• Observes confidentiality at all campuses when dealing with information regarding students, parents, faculty, and staff.
