The Inland Empire Women’s Business Center (IEWBC) is a program of the Randall W. Lewis Center for Entrepreneurship at California State University, San Bernardino, in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The center provides business counseling, training, and mentoring services tailored to women entrepreneurs, with specialized support for Latina business owners in both English and Spanish. Located in various locations throughout Inland Empire the IEWBC serves as a resource hub for local business owners aiming to grow and succeed.
It also operates a part-time outreach office in the San Bernardino, Riverside & Temecula offering flexible and accessible support.
Role Description
This is an on-site, part-time role based in San Bernardino, Riverside & Temecula, CA for a Business Counselor. The Business Counselor will provide business consulting services and guidance to entrepreneurs and small business owners, helping them develop strategies for growth and success. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling, assisting with business plans, advising on financial management, delivering workshops, and supporting program initiatives tailored to women entrepreneurs.
The role involves close collaboration with a variety of business clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring their individual needs are addressed. The role includes tracking and capturing key impact performance for work done with the client. Business Counselors will support community outreach events by assisting in the set up and break down.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills with the ability to assess business performance and recommend effective solutions
- Experience in Consulting and Management Consulting to assist clients with business planning and strategies
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with diverse audiences
- Understanding of Finance, including budgeting and financial planning, to support client business growth
- Experience working with underserved communities, especially women entrepreneurs, is highly desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a significant advantage
- Expertise in Quickbooks, bookkeeping, underwriting loans and finance are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM tools
