Assistant Professor of Music Therapy
About the Job
We are looking for an Assistant Professor of Music Therapy. This position is student‑ and community‑facing. It includes student advising, recruiting, oversight of music therapy clinical fieldwork and internships, teaching, program building, as well as active involvement in research and professional scholarship.
Responsibilities- Advising and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Recruiting and supporting the development of student cohorts
- Designing and teaching music therapy courses in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum
- Overseeing clinical fieldwork and internship placements for students
- Contributing to program development and quality improvement
- Engaging in scholarly research, publications, and professional activities
- Master’s degree in Music Therapy (required)
- Board certification in Music Therapy (MT‑BC) (required)
- Demonstrated academic teaching experience at the university level
- Strong professional clinical and supervision experience
