Technology Project Manager (MEP) – Design West Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Research technical product information.
• Conduct and/or delegate site inspections to assess existing conditions and progress.
• Design, coordinate, and engineer systems per discipline (telecom, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, Wi‑Fi, etc.).
• Prepare drawings, specifications, contract documents, and design calculations using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Provide support to the team, develop tools, improve processes, and share technical knowledge.
• Attend and contribute to internal team, discipline, and project meetings.
• Work on projects for continuous improvement of the firm and design practice.
• Perform other work‑related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk (AutoCAD & Revit), and Bluebeam Studio.
• BS in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5–15 years of experience as a Technology Project Manager in telecommunication, electronic security, and audiovisual systems.
• Expertise in full project design from schematic through close‑out.
• Proven ability to manage 10+ projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
• Experience completing specifications.
• Working knowledge of California Building Codes and National Electrical Code, with ability to identify and correct code issues.
• Understanding of industry best practices on drawings, specifications, standards, and client requirements.
• Comfortable working in an office and on job sites.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptability to change.
• Excellent time‑management skills to meet project deadlines.

Desired Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager in Technology Engineering.
• Proficiency in understanding requirements of various government agencies.
• EIT/PE license or progress toward these goals.
• RCDD certificate.
• Construction Documents Technologist (CSI).
• Experience with electronic security and/or audiovisual systems.
• Experience with other technology systems (e.g., nurse call, Wi‑Fi, cellular, DAS).
• Capability to mentor and support junior team members and other design teams.
• Proven track record of innovation and development.
• Willingness to accept responsibilities beyond the job description.

Compensation and Benefits

• $75,000–$140,000 per year, depending on experience.
