Senior Information and Referral Area Representative – Senior Information and Assistance Program
The Department of Aging and Adult Services – Office of the Public Guardian is recruiting a Senior Information and Referral Area Representative to lead outreach activities for the Senior Information and Assistance Program.
Responsibilities- Serve in a lead capacity over outreach activities for the Senior Information and Assistance Program.
- Frequent public speaking in the delivery of information and assistance services to older adults.
- Assess clients’ needs and make appropriate referrals.
- Establish and maintain a current directory of community resources.
- Complete data entry for statistical database.
- Provide counseling, advising, and assistance to senior citizens in solving problems.
- Twenty‑four semester (36 quarter) units of completed college coursework in social/behavioral science or human services.
- Associate’s degree in one of the qualifying areas or a list of completed coursework/transcripts.
- One (1) year full‑time equivalent of direct client contact experience in a social service program (volunteer experience acceptable, must be included).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong commitment to assisting older adults.
- Comfortable traveling to conduct community presentations and public speaking engagements.
