Roze Room Hospice is a leading provider of hospice and palliative care, celebrating 25 years of service in Southern California. Our volunteers offer soul support and compassionate companionship to patients and families during their most vulnerable moments.
Position SummaryWe are looking for compassionate individuals interested in making a difference in the lives of terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers provide friendly visits, companionship, active listening, caregiver support, light housekeeping, and other supportive activities as per patient and volunteer availability. This is an unpaid volunteer position; volunteers are expected to commit 4-16 hours per month with regular visits.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate companionship and support to patients and families.
- Engage in active listening, reminiscence, reading, music, dog walking, and other activities as desired.
- Assist with light housekeeping and playing games or cards.
- Support caregivers by listening and offering emotional comfort.
- Maintain flexible visit schedule with regular commitment 4-16 hours/month.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- California driver license or identification.
- Proof of current auto insurance.
- Social security card.
- Healthcare clearance.
Hospice training and background checks are provided free of charge through Roze Room Hospice.
