Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise clinical and case‑management staff, ensuring alignment with the Housing First and Recovery Model.
- Facilitate weekly team meetings and provide direct clinical guidance on case progress.
- Provide direct supervision, support, and training to team members; ensure team meets productivity standards.
- Oversee clinical service provision, including crisis intervention, individual rehabilitation, and medication management coordination.
- Serve as clinical lead for on‑call coverage, ensuring 24/7 access to support services.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations to ensure appropriate staffing, program census coverage, and clinical workflows.
- Manage program budget and outcomes to meet contract revenue requirements.
- Authorize timesheets, mileage, performance evaluations, and service documentation.
- Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of staff in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services and Quality Management.
- Ensure all documentation meets DBH, Medi-Cal, and Welligent ERRS standards.
- Monitor service delivery for fidelity to evidence‑based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, MI, TIC).
- Partner with QA Manager to implement compliance protocols and third‑party billing readiness.
- Co‑sign clinical documentation as required by licensure standards.
- Act as liaison with DBH, Continuum of Care (CoC) partners, and other community stakeholders.
- Represent Step Up at local management meetings, QA groups, and collaborative provider forums.
- Manage external communication and referrals related to clinical program services.
- Current California license as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC in good standing.
- 2 years of clinical experience working with adults diagnosed with chronic mental illness.
- Experience supervising interdisciplinary staff and/or interns.
- Strong knowledge of DBH/Medi-Cal documentation standards, housing support models, and mental health best practices.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially Welligent.
- Valid California driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Expertise in DSM‑5, clinical assessments, and level‑of‑functioning evaluations.
- Proficiency in trauma‑informed care, recovery‑oriented practice, and culturally responsive service delivery.
- Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
- Capacity to work independently in the field and maintain professional boundaries under challenging circumstances.
- Working with adults with chronic mental illness: 2 years (Preferred).
- Medical documentation: 1 year (Preferred).
- Frequent walking, sitting, driving, and computer use.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
- Exposure to field‑based work with individuals experiencing homelessness, including conditions involving poor hygiene, bedbugs, and emotionally intense encounters.
- Training provided in crisis de‑escalation and safety.
