Instrument Technician
Join Dignity Health as an Instrument Tech to support the mission of St. Bernardine Medical Center by maintaining surgical instruments and sterilization processes.
Responsibilities- Initial decontamination of instruments post-surgical procedure.
- Inspect and maintain instrument packaging for proper sterilization.
- Supervise or complete sterile or cold disinfecting processes.
- Assist with instrument purchases under the direction of specialty coordinators.
- Rotate and store sterile instruments to ensure presentation and utilization within shelf life and sterilization dates.
- Communicate needs for upgrading or replacing instrumentation.
- Transport patients and deliver surgical specimens with necessary documentation.
- Document cleaning and participate in maintenance and spore testing of unit and washer sterilizers.
- Minimum one year experience as an Instrument Technician, Central Service Technician, or relevant instrument processing experience.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of equipment used in the department.
- Certification in Sterile Processing preferred.

Pay Range$24.00 – $29.58 per hour.
