Position Description

Entry level with basic training. Assigned to a site with minimal duties.

Training Requirements

Level 1 Guard trainings include:
Nature and Role of Private Security Guards, Observation and Incident Reporting, Principles of Communication, Principles of Access Control, Principles of Safeguarding Information, Crowd Control, Traffic Control & Parking Lot Security, and Basic Computer Skills.

Expected Responsibilities
  • Observe, report, and assist with de‑escalation of incidents at client sites.
  • Conduct oneself to promote and maintain good public relations.
  • Maintain accurate written reports and submit unusual incident reports via the client’s automated system.
  • Stay alert and operate a well‑organized guard service system.
  • Anticipate criminal acts, take remedial action, and recognize regular employees and frequent visitors.
  • Maintain written records according to guard manuals.
  • Perform duties under capable supervision.
  • Know and abide by all applicable laws.
  • De‑escalate confrontations with firm politeness.
  • Assist the public with information and guidance.
  • Notify law enforcement and assist in apprehending lawbreakers.
  • Avoid personal familiarities unless polite necessity.
  • Assist with first aid when needed.
  • Assist with traffic control and issue parking citations.
  • Investigate criminal acts, report authorities, and document within 24 hours.
  • Follow company policies and contractor directives.
  • Safeguard confidential information.
  • Report incidents to proper client authority.
  • Investigate and identify persons committing illegal acts.
  • Comply with client policies on sexual harassment, workplace violence, and non‑discrimination.
    • Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years (unarmed) or 21 years (armed) old and able to perform duties.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal alien status.
  • Provide references confirming good character.
  • Pass physical fitness requirements.
  • Previous experience or training sufficient for competent performance.
  • Copies of certifications (CPR, First Aid, etc.) upon request.
  • Valid California driver’s license or .
  • High‑school graduate or equivalent; competent English reading/writing.
  • Health screenings (TB, Hepatitis B, etc.) as required.
  • Drug screening passed within six months of assignment.
  • No felony or relevant crime convictions in the last seven years.
  • Valid California security guard license with permanent registration card.
