Microservices Engineer – Canonical

Key responsibilities

Implement high‑scale RESTful APIs in Go and Python.
Design resilient microservices for millions of clients.
Write production‑ready tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with distributed teams and drive technical excellence.
Participate in code reviews, documentation, and community outreach.

Key qualifications

Strong academic record or proven experience in software engineering.
Proficiency in Python and Go; experience with relational/non‑relational databases.
Experience designing scalable web services and working in CI/CD environments.
Excellent communication and written English; ability to travel twice a year.
Passion for open source, curiosity, and ownership.

Additional desirable skills

Container technologies (Docker/LXD/Kubernetes) and build tools.
Performance engineering, security, and distributed systems design.
Experience with hyperscale cloud platforms.
