Microservices Engineer – Canonical
Join Canonical, a global leader in open source, to scale the Ubuntu platform.
Key responsibilities- Implement high‑scale RESTful APIs in Go and Python.
- Design resilient microservices for millions of clients.
- Write production‑ready tests and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with distributed teams and drive technical excellence.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and community outreach.
- Strong academic record or proven experience in software engineering.
- Proficiency in Python and Go; experience with relational/non‑relational databases.
- Experience designing scalable web services and working in CI/CD environments.
- Excellent communication and written English; ability to travel twice a year.
- Passion for open source, curiosity, and ownership.
- Container technologies (Docker/LXD/Kubernetes) and build tools.
- Performance engineering, security, and distributed systems design.
- Experience with hyperscale cloud platforms.
- Remote work with occasional team sprints in person.
