Senior Accountant

Our client, a growing residential services company specializing in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical solutions, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its California division.

San Carlos, CA. on-site Monday through Friday.

This role offers exposure to multiple entities, payroll processing, and commission administration, along with opportunities for professional growth.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Oversee payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees and ensure compliance with regulations
• Calculate and administer commissions based on sales compensation plans
• Support audits, compliance initiatives, and process improvements to enhance efficiency

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll or compensation accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-state payroll practices
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Quick Books) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex)
• Advanced Excel skills and excellent communication abilities
