Primary Responsibilities
- Verify the proper specimen being analyzed and perform tests that need to be completed
- Analyze clinical laboratory specimens following the standard methods and procedures in an efficient manner with little to no errors
- Maintain an updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab
- Follow GLP: maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Complete training and other deadlines on time
- Serve as go‑to person when lead/supervisor is not available
- Assist lead/supervisor in training new hires and/or assist with training/implementation of new process changes as needed
- Train on specialized instructions for instruments/protocols (super users)
- Recognize and escalated equipment malfunctions; troubleshoot common errors
- Recognize, document, and escalated protocol deviations in the lab to lead/supervisor
- Participate in updating departmental standard operating procedures and database to accurately reflect current practices
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements through proper documentation
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data (if applicable)
- Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition
- Communicate with team and other departments (including via e‑mail)
- Provide feedback on day‑to‑day schedule and tasks to lead/supervisor; offer suggestions/ideas for improvement
- Assist teammates in completing daily tasks
- Conduct oneself/herself in a professional manner; act as a role model/mentor to others
- Adhere to departmental expectations
- Work with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form; have access to various technologies to access PHI in order to perform the job
- Complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
- Maintain a current status on Natera training requirements
- Pass post‑offer criminal background check
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 2‑4 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory environment
- BS/BA degree (or equivalent) in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field
- Current California CLS license or CGMBS license (Clinical Genetics Molecular Biology Scientist)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, troubleshooting, and pipetting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Word processing and data management skills
This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of the base pay we reasonably expect to offer at the time of hire. Compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Compensation Range: $47.19 - $58.99 USD
