Performs histological preparations for Signatera Whole Exome Sequencing. The position is for first shift- 6.00 AM- 2.30 PM ;

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform histological preparations for the tissue whole exome sequencing laboratory with little to no errors
  • Duties may include, but not limited to, preparation of tissues, stained slides, microdissection, and supporting workflow tasks
  • Follows Good Laboratory Practice (GLP): maintain clean and organized workspace
  • Recognizes and escalates equipment or LIS malfunctions; troubleshoots common errors
  • Recognizes, documents, escalate protocol deviations to lab management
  • Maintains equipment and instruments in good operating condition
  • Communicates with team and other departments
  • Provides feedback on workflow to lab management and offers suggestions/ideas for improvement
  • Assist teammates in completing daily tasks
  • Adheres to departmental procedures
  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) to perform the job
  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure
  • Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
  • Ensures timely completion of other training assignments assigned in the EDMS
  • Ensures timely completion of continuing education units
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification

  • Associate degree or higher required in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent
  • HT(ASCP) required
  • 2-5 years of experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working with an LIS and Google Suite
  • Word processing and data management skills.

Physical Demand and Work Environment

  • Repetitive hand motions are required for FFPE preparation
  • Standing or sitting for long periods of time may be necessary
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.

$45 - $52 USD
