Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist (Epigenomics)
Natera is currently seeking a Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Research Team focused on Epigenomics in Oncology. Natera’s mission is to change the management of disease worldwide by using information gained from a simple blood draw to detect disease early and proactively inform treatment.
Primary Responsibilities- Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large‑scale data sets related to cancer detection.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence.
- Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems.
- Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control.
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with a strong emphasis on cancer epigenomics.
- Proven track record of developing state‑of‑the‑art computational methods for high‑throughput sequencing data processing.
- Strong foundation in quantitative reasoning, statistical analysis and applied machine learning.
- Strong computational and programming skills, with hands‑on experience with Python and its scientific library stack (Pandas, Num Py, scikit‑learn).
- Experience using Linux command‑line tools and writing shell scripts.
- Ability to perform hypothesis‑driven research, visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form.
- High scientific rigor and eagerness to teach and learn about new computational methods and biology.
Compensation Range: $146,900—$183,600 USD (base salary). Final compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
