Accounts Receivable Specialist – San Clemente, CA

Join a growing accounting team of nine at a well-established, San Clemente–based company in the environmental services industry. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity driven by growth, working closely with an experienced and supportive Director of Accounting who values collaboration and professionalism.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will handle day‑to‑day invoicing, collections, and credit‑related activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with both internal sales teams and customers’ accounts payable departments.

• Manage daily AR and collection activities with professionalism and persistence
• Process invoices, cash applications, and reconciliations accurately and on time
• Conduct collection calls and resolve payment issues
• Monitor and follow up on past due accounts and disputed balances
• Research discrepancies and ensure prompt resolution
• Handle credit applications and preliminary lien notices
• Maintain accurate records and support month‑end close as needed
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure positive cash flow and account accuracy

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• Minimum 3 years of accounts receivable experience (construction industry experience is a plus)
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software preferred
