Incorporated in 1999, we support mission critical Information Technology (IT) business needs for clients within the intelligence community (IC), Department of Defense (DOD), Veteran Administration (VA) and for select commercial clients. ACET, Inc.’s technical, programmatic, and analytical professionals are experts in commercial technology, customized solutions, and proprietary government systems.

We’re seeking a highly skilled and motivated Avionics Technician specializing in depot-level modifications and new systems integrations on UH-1Y and AH-1Z aircraft. This position is vital to supporting aircraft upgrade modifications, repairs, and inspections of advanced avionics systems — ensuring optimal readiness and operational capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform depot-level modifications and new system integrations, troubleshooting, maintenance, to include communication, navigation, flight control, and electronic warfare systems.
  • Conduct wiring, component, and system-level modifications, inspections to identify malfunctions and implement repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to address and resolve complex avionics issues to include documenting inconsistencies and non-conformance, redline documentation and suggested install corrective actions.
  • Document all maintenance actions in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with quality assurance and safety standards, including adherence to Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790 and local SOP and GOPS compliance guidelines.
  • Support aircraft inspections and acceptance procedures and modifications as required.
  • Ensure all tools, test equipment, and consumables are calibrated and maintained per established policies.
Qualifications Skills
  • Proficient in reading, interpreting and utilizing technical manuals (TD / IDP), schematics, and diagrams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical principles and troubleshooting techniques specific to avionics.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Competence in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers for accurate assessments.
  • Install, test, troubleshoot, repair and certify avionics upgrades and modifications as needed.
  • Ability to route wires / cables, clamp, hardware build ups, preform connector terminations and connector build‑up.
  • Self‑starter and ability to work independently in a team environment.
Required
  • Minimum 8 years of aviation avionics maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency in depot‑level maintenance procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of FAA, military, and industry standards related to avionics systems.
  • Familiarity with aircraft wiring, including MIL‑SPEC connectors and harnesses.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for avionics testing and repair.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
Preferred
  • Experience on the UH‑1Y and/or AH‑1Z platform aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent military certification.
  • Prior service in a military or government aviation maintenance environment.
  • Aircraft Avionics / Electrician Certifications.
  • Past Quality Assurance or QAR Experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
  • Must be able to climb on ladders if needed.
  • Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
