Bookkeeper

Description

Our client, a respected nonprofit organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in nonprofit bookkeeping who are passionate about supporting meaningful causes.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations

+ Record and classify expenses, donations, grants, and program-related income in compliance with nonprofit accounting principles

+ Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and supporting documentation for management and board review

+ Maintain organized and accurate records to ensure readiness for annual audits and grant reporting

+ Assist with budgeting, grant tracking, and compliance requirements

+ Collaborate with staff across departments to answer accounting-related questions

+ Support year-end closing activities and prepare required schedules for auditors

Requirements

+ 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with nonprofit sector experience strongly preferred

+ Proficiency in nonprofit accounting software (such as Quick Books Nonprofit, Sage Intacct, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

+ Knowledge of fund accounting and grant management best practices

+ Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
