Sr Accountant

We're representing a global manufacturing company headquartered in San Diego with more than 40 years in business, revenues exceeding $500M, and operations across 23 offices worldwide. The company is well established, financially strong, and continuing to grow organically and through acquisitions.

This Senior Accountant role sits on a lean corporate accounting team and reports directly to the Controller. While the company has a larger transaction-focused team, this position owns core general ledger responsibilities and plays a key role in consolidated financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a confident, hands-on professional who isn't afraid to take ownership and can manage both individual and team-level deadlines.

Compensation & Location
- Base salary range: $100,000 - $115,000 + bonus & benefits
- On-site role based in Sorrento Valley, San Diego

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage general ledger activities, including month-end close, account reconciliations, and journal entries
• Support financial reporting processes in a multi-entity, international environment
• Assist with consolidations and eliminations; multi-currency exposure strongly preferred
• Partner with AP and AR teams to review, reconcile, and validate transactional activity
• Support sales and use tax compliance and related reporting
• Contribute to accounting policy development and documentation
• Assist with lease accounting, revenue recognition, and audit support
• Participate in ad hoc projects, including valuation support for potential acquisitions and other strategic initiatives
• Manage multiple deadlines independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Proven experience in a true Senior Accountant role with strong general ledger ownership
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment; international exposure is a plus
• Familiarity with consolidations, eliminations, and multi-currency accounting preferred
• Exposure to transfer pricing is a plus
• Comfortable partnering with transaction teams and reviewing downstream accounting entries
• Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas; curiosity around automation and clean data is highly valued
