Robert's Auto Service is seeking an experienced A-Level European Automotive Technician in San Diego, CA, offering $40–$50 per flagged hour with estimated annual earnings of $80,000–$120,000.

You’ll join a collaborative, family-oriented team in a busy 10-bay facility, with paid training, health benefits, and a primarily Monday–Friday schedule.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of advanced European vehicle diagnostics and repairs while working alongside experienced automotive professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair European vehicles, with occasional assignments involving domestic and Asian vehicles.
• Perform advanced automotive diagnostics, including check engine light concerns, drivability problems, and electrical system troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and complete major engine and transmission repairs, including component removal and replacement.
• Perform general automotive maintenance, mechanical repairs, and vehicle inspections.
• Use diagnostic scan tools and service information to accurately identify mechanical and electrical concerns.
• Document inspection findings and repair recommendations, utilizing the shop's digital vehicle inspection process.
• Collaborate with service advisors and fellow technicians to support efficient workflow and accurate repairs.
• Complete assigned repairs with attention to workmanship, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of professional automotive repair experience, with strong hands-on European vehicle experience.
• A-Level technical capability, including advanced diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, drivability diagnosis, and complex mechanical repairs.
• California Smog Check technician certification REQUIRED
• Experience performing major engine and transmission repairs, along with general automotive maintenance.
• Ability to independently diagnose automotive problems using scan tools and appropriate diagnostic procedures.
• Must own the personal automotive tools and scan tools needed for the position.
• ASE certifications preferred; digital vehicle inspection experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• Flat-Rate Pay: $40–$50 per flagged hour.
• Estimated Annual Earnings: $80,000–$120,000, depending on flagged hours and productivity. This is an estimated earning opportunity, not a guaranteed salary.
• Production:
  Technicians typically turning approximately 40–50 flagged hours weekly, with a target of at least 40 hours for this position.

  Weekly.
