A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Coordinator to support commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects throughout the San Diego region. This role works closely with Project Managers, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors to help keep projects organized and moving from startup through closeout.
This is a good fit for someone with construction coordination or project support experience who is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in continuing to grow within mechanical construction.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and administration
Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
Track equipment, materials, procurement, and delivery schedules
Maintain project files, logs, drawings, specifications, and documentation
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, field teams, and internal departments
Assist with project schedules, meeting documentation, and action-item tracking
Support billing, cost tracking, change management, and project reporting
Help prepare project startup, turnover, and closeout documentation
Track permits, inspections, warranties, O&M manuals, and other project requirements
Communicate with Project Managers and field teams to help identify and resolve outstanding project items
2-5+ years of construction project coordination, project engineering, or project administration experience preferred
Experience with a mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or specialty contractor strongly preferred
Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and construction documentation
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Comfortable communicating with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software preferred
Basic understanding of construction plans and specifications preferred
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred but not required
