Polar Express Family

Event Overview

The Polar Express is in town at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum! To celebrate the holiday season, the San Diego Model Railroad Museum will host a Polar Express Family Day! Children are encouraged to wear their pj's and enjoy the Polar Express film (two showings), and also make their way around the museum while participating in themed crafts, a scavenger hunt, and games based on the film!

There will be a visit from Santa as well, once he hears the jingle bells.

Volunteers will assist with the final event setup and breakdown. During the event, they will attend to the craft tables, assist children/guests with crafts, and restock craft supplies. Volunteers will also be positioned around the museum to help with the scavenger hunt, games, and directing participants to different areas of the event.

Attire: Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. This event takes place indoors.

Physical Requirements: The museum can make reasonable accommodations for volunteers with physical limitations. The project space is wheelchair accessible.

Photos: Volunteers may take photos of themselves or museum layouts only, and not of the museum guests.

The mission of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum is to research, collect, preserve, and present the heritage of American railroading using educational programs, displays, toy trains, and scale models of California railroads.

Age:
Minimum 18 years (with an adult).
