Responsibilities- Oversee A/V control room operations for Petco Park and Gallagher Square shows and concerts, serving as Technical Director when required for up to 9 video boards and 10 LED ribbon boards.
- Lead planning and set‑up for Petco Park event production and Gallagher Square stage shows, acting as technical and content lead.
- Act as the main conduit on event day, coordinating directly with Petco Park Events staff and clients to preload graphics and A/V elements.
- Manage live events for Petco Park including High School Baseball games, member batting practices, and corporate events.
- Execute internal A/V requests in the Auditorium, Clubs & Suites, and for corporate meetings.
- Collaborate with part‑time audio crew, providing instruction and guidance.
- Operate the Ross Acuity multi‑ME video production switcher, graphics, and associated equipment for in‑house and Padres baseball events, including Ross Xpression, Evertz Dreamcatcher, routers, video processors, and multi‑viewers.
- Operate Daktronics show control for LED ribbons and event production.
- Edit and customize videos using Adobe Premiere and After Effects for control‑room playback.
- Deploy third‑party vendor software for social media activations (Fan polls, displays, app interface).
- Collaborate with production staff across the organization to create high‑quality events and game presentations.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Event Production & Video Engineering.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office, basic office equipment).
Strong written and verbal communication, collaborative and respectful approach. - Exceptional time‑management and organizational skills, capable of handling high volumes of detailed work.
- Professional demeanor, discretion, integrity, and accountability.
- Consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
- Minimum 18 years of age at employment start.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
- Minimum of 4 years in A/V event production management or technical roles.
- Advanced knowledge of Ross Acuity, Ross Xpression, Evertz Dreamcatcher, and related live‑production equipment.
- Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite experience.
- Experience converting file types and codes for control‑room content.
- Prior staff and control‑room management experience.
- Knowledge of live sports broadcasting and baseball operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills; proactive improvement mindset.
- Bonus:
Fluent bilingual English/Spanish. - Flexible hours: weekends, evenings, special events, holidays, and extended hours as required.
- Physical ability to access ballpark areas for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Successful completion of all pre‑employment background checks.
In accordance with California pay‑transparency law, the base salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000. Additional compensation and a comprehensive benefits package—medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match, life insurance, pet insurance, generous PTO, holiday program, employee parking, onsite barista service, game tickets, and more—will be offered subject to eligibility and plan terms.
