Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a Hygiene Dentist to work under the direction of the Dental Director. The Dentist offers and provides general dental care and services to patients. Responsibilities:
- Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.
- Participates in developing and reviewing hygiene protocols, audit procedures, and quality assurance procedures.
- Performs preventive dental procedures including dental prophylaxis, root planning and scaling, sealants, and oral health education.
- Understands scope of practice. Consults when appropriate and refers patients as necessary to dentist, dental specialists and/or medical providers.
- Uses resources efficiently, practices in a cost-effective manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited Dental School.
- License from the State of California as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or a Doctor of Medical Dentistry (D.M.D.) required.
- DEA license
- General practice residency or equivalent of 2 years clinical experience preferred.
- Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
- Membership in American Academy of General Dentistry preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
