Our office is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing dental team in San Diego, CA. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an experienced orthodontist in a patient-focused practice where your skills and passion for dental care truly make a difference. We have two office locations in Rancho Bernardo and University City, we split our days two days per week in each office-- must be willing to travel.
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during patient procedures including bonding, banding, and wire adjustments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, organized treatment area
- Take and process dental X-rays, photographs, and impressions/digital scans
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and orthodontic treatment progress
- Update and maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
- Assist with fabrication and delivery of retainers and other orthodontic appliances
- Prior orthodontic or dental assisting experience strongly preferred
- Orthdontic Assistant certification (OA), Dental Assistant certification (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license (California preferred)
- Familiarity with orthodontic procedures, terminology, and equipment
- Radiation Safety certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, patient-centered chairside manner
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency with dental practice management software is a plus
